**Dancing with the Stars**

**
What else would you do with a bunch of
feathers other than turn them into a card!!!
All fired up with inspiration from my visit
to the craft show last week I pulled out my
very neglected Gelly Roll pens and got busy
creating.
I haven't used gold stickers for so long, in the
beginning nearly every one of my cards had
them on, so after nearly two years of not
touching them it was time to bring back with a
bit of a modern twist to them.
I forgot how much fun it was using the Gelly
Rolls with the stickers.
**
**
With all the stunning dresses from our current
season of Dancing with the Stars in mind and
the sketch from Fridays Sketches this is what
I came up with.
I have a love hate relationship with the
Metallic Cardstock - I love to use it, but hate
to try to photograph it.

Metallic Cardstock
Gold Stickers

Sakura Gelly Roll Pens
Feathers

3.5 Challenges in One!!!!! ROP Bag Full of Hearts

**
I can't believe that with all the excitement
last week in revealing Belles 'n Whistles
puzzle pieces that my 5000th blog hit came
and went without me stopping to acknowledge it.
**
I'd like to say a HUGE thank-you to
everyone that has stopped by to look at my
over the last year to look at my creations.
It's really encouraging having fellow crafters
view and comment on your work.
**
**
And so onto this weeks Roses on Paper challenge.
The very talented Lim has asked for a card with Hearts.
I bought these gorgeous heart charms at the Melbourne
Craft & Quilt Fair that I went to last week which were
just perfect for this challenge.
This ~From the Heart~ stamp was the perfect
sentiment to go with the Heart theme and finished
off the gift card nicely.
To take part in this challenge and your chance to maybe
pickup one of the fantastic prizes that Summer offers up
with each challenge be sure to go to our
If you don't have the necessary stamps for our challenges
be sure to visit Summer for all your Magnolia stamps.

You may have noticed the strange title for
this posting -
3.5 Challenges in One & a Bag Full of Hearts!!!!!
I've been so busy trying to complete our
end of year tax paper work that I haven't
had a great deal of time to 'play' at my
craft desk - so I decided to combine my 4
favourite challenge blogs in one ~
(are you beginning to get the idea that I LOVE Magnolia's!!!)
**
**
But why the 3.5???
Well the Just Magnolia Tutorial blog has a tutorial on
creating 3D images - as I've only made my letter 3D
I figure I've only done half the challenge!!!!!
**
**
The Just Magnolia challenge blog had this awesome
sketch - with the request for 3 x something in the top
corner it was just the perfect place for my 3 Hearts.
And then finally Just Magnolia Too had the interesting
idea of decorating a paper bag. I chose to decorate a
brown paper gift bag - I just don't want to give it away
to anyone now!!!!!
And there you have it - 3.5 Challenges in One!!!!!

Basic Grey Periphery Paper Pad

70th Birthday Wishes

**
One of my friends asked me to make a
birthday card for her dad's 70th Birthday.
I tried to make it a week ago however I
ended up so sidetracked that the card I
made ended up being my Summer/Vacation
card for our Roses on Paper challenge!!!!
**
**
I did like making the tri-fold card that I used for my
Summer card, so with that design in mind I finally got
around to making the birthday card that I was meant
to do in the first place.
I found these great Alison Ellis Design paper at my local
craft store which have huge cupcakes just perfect for
paper piecing.
**
I completed the card with a matching envelope,
using these great EK Success flourish punches.

Ingredients:
Alison Ellis Design Patterned Paper

"Peek-a-Boo"

**
Wow - how did you all go looking for clues -
I hope you all left comments along the way.
So what do you think of the first brand new
pretty darn cute, if you ask me.
How lucky are we to have such a talented artist
as Elisabeth Bell creating these gorgeous stamps
**
I'm already forward planning and have my
co-ordinating papers picked out in my head -
now I just need this adorable stamp.
**

**

So moving on, as I was about to do this post I realised that it's my 100th posting, and a monumental number calls for an exciting post - and I think revealing the first piece of the puzzle for our second Belles 'n Whistles stamp is pretty exciting!!!

**

Well get your thinking caps on, below is the first reveal. If you've come this far and managed to find this piece be sure to leave a comment as those who do will be automatically entered into a drawing to win the actual rubber stamp. How awesome would that be.

Remember - Only one entry per sneak peek will be allowed so don't worry about having to leave comments for each new piece that is revealed.

**

**
So - any ideas????
Make sure you visit all my fellow DT members
blogs in search of the second piece of the puzzle.

ROP SUMMERY / VACATION CHALLENGE

**
Can you believe how fast the weeks fly by -
it seems like I only just posted my card for
our last challenge and now it's time for our
next one.
My incredibly talented DT friend, Iris, is the
host for this fortnights challenge, the theme -
"Summer/Vacation"
Get out your Magnolia's/Greeting Farm stamps
and join in our Roses on Paper challenge.
**
I must say I struggled with this one - not that
I don't like summer - I LOVE summer, I struggled
because in the middle of a freezing cold dreary
winters afternoon, with no daylight left at 5pm
in the afternoon I was seriously left with no
summery inspiration whatsoever - all I could
think about was trying to keep my feet warm!!
**

**
And then, it all just seemed to fall into place.
Well, it wasn't quite like that - this card was
not intended to be my DT card - it was meant
to be a card my friend had requested that I
make for her dad's 70th birthday!!!
So, I started with my brown cardstock, that's
very masculine - then I spied my Basic Grey
Sultry paper pad, what???? that's not very
manly at all - ahhhh but it is very summery.
Add a very tropical looking Tilda, some hot
pink flowers, a little golden thong (flip flop)
charm and here's my card.
**

**
I wanted to try something a little different for my card
this week, so when I came across the technique for making
a Tri-Fold card at SCS I decided to give that a try.
It looks complicated, but it is surprisingly very, very easy,
and I think it gives cards a bit of a WOW factor.
Below you can see all the various layers from above.
**

**
For your chance to maybe pick up an awesome prize come
on over to Roses on Paper and join in this fun challenge.
Don't have any Magnolia or Greeting Farm Stamps - not a
problem, Summer has a HUGE collection of stamps, with a
new shipment of Magnolia's just in stock this week.

Magnolia Stamp
Basic Grey Sultry Paper Pad
Brown Cardstock
Copic Markers
atyou Spica Markers

Just Magnolia (and Roses too!!!)

**
I don't participate in combined challenges - not that I
don't want to, it's more a case that I'll see a challenge
and have an idea, so I'll make that card and then move
onto the next challenge site. I definately need to change
my way of thinking - combining challanges is definately
the way to go.
**

**
For this card I've chosen the sketch challange at SCS for
the first part of the combination.
I really loved this sketch - something different other
than all the usual layering of papers.
**

**
For the next part of the combination I couldn't go past
one of my favourite sites - Just Magnolia.
You have to love a site that asks that you use nothing
but Magnolia stamps - that's easy.
The challenge there this week is to use a charm of some
sort on the card. I've been waiting to make a hat pin
with my rose charms and it turned out to be the
perfect compliment for the rose stamp from the
Chasing Butterflies collection.
**

**
Another thing I don't usually do is decorate the insides
of my cards - no excuse other than just being lazy.
That's another thing I need to work on -
I love how a lot of my fellow card makers finish
off their cards on the inside, so this is something I'll
be doing myself from now on.
The Basic Grey pads are perfect for completing the
insides of the cards.

Magnolia Stamps
Basic Grey Paper Pad
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Hand Made Hat Pin
Paper Punches
