~ Princess Tilda ~

**
These days it would seem my blog has been
taken over by cupcakes and sugar flowers,
so it was really nice to take some time for
card making on the weekend.
**
**
This little princess is for the challenge blog
who are having a Fancy Folds Challenge.
Ok, so the fold itself isn't that fancy, but I think
Tida looks pretty fancy dressed up in her
diamonds.
**
**
I'm so torn between baking and  cardmaking
at the moment, somehow I'm going to have
to try to incorporate the two, because whenever
I do one the other always misses out.

~ Magnolia Cooking Journal ~

**
Finally, my two favourite hobbies together
in one place - cooking and crafting.
I've been doing a cake decorating course
and I've taking so many note and they've
all been on bits of whatever paper I had
handy at the time, that was until I made
myself this cooking journal to keep everything
in one neat, tidy journal.
**
**
I was a little late with my posting for the
sketch challenge I used, but definately not too
late for the brand new 7 Kids College Kids challenge.
It's very exciting when a new challenge blog starts
up with lots of new ideas and enthusiasm.
**

**
Pink and Dots - I had the perfect Magnolia
paper sitting anxiously in my file just waiting
to be used, and what better stamp to use for
my cooking journal - Cooking Tilda, just perfect.

~ Shades of Grey ~

**
~ Shades of Grey ~
Finally I took some time for me and my crafting and
played along with some challenges.
With so many challenges out there it's hard to know
where to start, all I knew was there were going to be
Magnolia stamps involved.
**
I haven't stamped Romantic Tilda before and I had a
lot of fun with her, she's so pretty.
**
**
My initial thoughts were to colour using pink, but after
choosing my papers I decided for a bit of a monochrome
look with Shades of Grey. Somewhere along my blog
hopping I saw a Vintage Challenge, but now I have no
idea where I saw it.

My next challenge was for a Masculine Card. This wasn't
a blog challenge, simply a challenge for me. I steer clear
of male cards generally however there comes a time when
it's a males birthday when I simply have no choice.
**
**
This is my take on the sketch from Sketch Saturday.
I've had this stamp in my collection forever - I think it
was one of the very first stamps that I ever bought.
I think it's very similar to the very popular Popcorn
Bear stamps.

Cardstock
Penny Black Buzzin Buddies Stamp
Basic Grey Basics Kraft Pad
Bazzil
Senitments stamp from stash
Copic Markers

Surely you didn't think I'd just make one Magnolia card.
The bear card would have been a Magnolia card to if they
made bear stamps!!!!
**
Magnolia-licious Highlites are having a Nautical themed
challenge this week - perfect, I got to stamp up one of my
Magnolia Pirates that I so desperately needed and had
yet to use!!!! I think we've all been guilty of that hmmmm.
The sketch is from Friday Sketchers.
**
I didn't have any pirate paper so I used the same
Papermania paper pad as I did for my Shades of
Grey Romantic Tilda card.
Somehow I don't think this little pirate is going to strike
up to much fear on the Seven Seas.

Cardstock

Magnolia Stamps
Bazzil
Copics
Chalk
White Highlighter Pen

Well that's it for today, I have a
batch of cupcakes in the oven, so
my next post will be a yummy one.

~ Magnolia Rose Box ~

**
I had sooooo much fun creating this Magnolia Rose Box.
Combining my favourite flower, roses, with my
favourite rubber stamps I was in crafters heaven.
**
**
Firstly I chose the gorgeous baby blue rose paper to
cover the little wooden box. Next I used my Nesties
for the top and bottom of the box.
**
**
Then I had to create two sets of identical twins!!!!!
**

**
Beautiful Prima and Magnolia roses, together with some
punched fern leaves, ribbon and of course, some glitter
to finish of my Magnolia Rose Box.
**

**

Next week I think I'll start to get back into participating
in challenges, but for this week I'll just play around a bit
and refamilirise myself with all my goodies.
After spending a couple of days visiting blogs I've been
flooded with so much inspiration and I've got so many
ideas I can't wait to create.

Grab and Cuppa and Pull Up a Chair .......

.......... it's going to be a looooooong post.
As some of you have noticed, I haven't been creating for the
longest time. Thank you for the emails I have received asking
about me and my family. No excuses other than I just haven't
had the time. Due to one reason or another life has been
extremely busy not leaving very much ME time, BUT I've
decided that is definately going to change.
**
I celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago and with it came
the most stunning hand-made card from my dear friend Iris.
When I opened the card I suddenly realised what I had been
missing and decided that I would always make time for my
craft work.
**
So, having decided that I headed straight to my craft room
and got to work.
First up I HAD to stamp a couple of the gorgeous Magnolia
stamps that were sitting unused and neglected on my desk.
I seriously can't believe how many of then haven't been
used yet!!!!
**

**
This darling little is sitting waiting for her Prince.
I hope she doesn't have to wait too long.
Along with my un-opened stamps sat a pile of un-opened
Magnolia papers, which much to my pleasure, have
finally been used.
I just love the one with the roses on it.

**
A little bit of glitter to jazz up the roses a bit.
**

**
Now just because I haven't been making cards
doesn't mean I haven't been using my card
making supplies.
I recently discovered another use for my Cuttlebug
folders............
CUPCAKES!!!!!!!!!
**
**
What do you think about that - embossing icing with
Cuttlebug Folders - now thats a way to justify spending
money on all that craft equipment!!!!
**
**
Next to crafting, well maybe on par, is my next love of
baking and decorating Cup Cakes.
I love having friends over for afternoon tea and offering
them my latest creating or taking a tray of them to
friends houses.
**
**
All the hard work is worth the effort when a 6 year old
oooh's and aaaah's at how pretty the cakes are before
eating them all up.
**
**
Once the first Tilda had been inked and coloured it
wasn't too long before the next one was ready to be
put on a card.
I still can't get over just how long I've gone without
these little girls - they bring so much pleasure, not
just to the crafter, but to the recipient of the cards.
**
**
**

**
This card would definatley have to be one of the quickest
ones I've ever made and didn't take much effort at all, but
none the less I was still quite pleased with the results.
**

**
It's definately the addition of glitter that completes this
card.
**

**
And finally - my green butterfly card.
I don't usually like to use green, I'm generally a pink
person, however I think it came together really nicely.
**
**
**
I'm sure the inclusion of butterflies on this card
is what's brought it all together.

**
I usually like to include a list of all items used
when putting together my blog posts, however
as I've included several different projects I've
passed on the items list this time around.
**
If there is a specific paper or stamp you want
to know about, please feel free to ask.

~ Charming Tilda ~

**
This card has proven to be a real labour of love.
What started out as a simple birthday card for a
friend has now grown and grown as I thought of
more and more elements to add to it.
**
The ladies at Magnolia Down Under want to see some
charms incorporated in their challenge this week.
I had these metal floral charms sitting in my stash for
some time just waiting for the right card to use them on.
I think they set the card off just nicely.
**
**
Finally Edwin gets to make an appearance on one of my
cards. I'm not very nice to him, infact, I'm quite
neglectful. I think this might be the first time I have
included a single Edwin on a card. I have used the
skating pair of Tilda and Edwin together before, but yes,
this is definately the first Edwin on his own. Not that he
gets to be on the front of the card, but he's on the card
and that's a start.
**

**
I'm not sure how I survived up until now without
the Nellie Snellen Flower Punch set.
It might actually be my new favourite toy.

~ Antique Magnolia Roses ~

**
It's time for another challenge at Roses on Paper.
This time around my wonderfully talented friend
and Design Team partner, Iris, has given us an
awesome sketch to work with.
**
I've been such a slack DT member of late,
but I love a great sketch and this one was
lovely to work with and gave me a good
opportunity to use my newest Nesties.
**
**
Summer once again has a wonderful prize
ready for the lucky winner of this challenge
so head over to our Roses on Paper Challenge
Blog for a list of the qualifying stamps and
to get your copy of the sketch.
**
**
**
For those of you that know me I don't have to
tell you how much I love roses. I was so excited
when my favourite stamp company, Magnolia,
released this gorgeus rose arrangement.
For the rose on the inside of the card I did a little
bit of pruning and trimmed off a few of the leaves
and a flower.
**
I've tried to make my card look a bit antiquey
(is that a word) by using Glamsol and using a
brush in my black inkpad to add a distressed
finish.
**
**
Ingredients:
Magnolia Stamp
Webster's Pages Patterned Paper
Bazzil
Nesties
Copic Markers
Gold Glamsol

~ Candles and Cards ~

**
I have had the most frustrating week.
I never realised how much I used the internet
until I have been without it.
Now, finally after two modems and two different
IT technicians my computer is back up and
running.
**
There was actually a positive side to the downtime,
I have been using this time to be creative.
Buying gifts for teenage girls can be a bit of a
nightmare, but I think I've come up with a solution.
Along with an itunes voucher I made a Magnolia
Birthday Candle for my daughters friend.
**

**
The card I made was fairly plain and simple
as I wanted the focus to be on the candle.
My copics were put to the side for this project
and my all time favourite H2o's were used.
**

**
The flower decoration was made using my brand
new Nellie Snellen punches. I was thrilled with the
the results they gave, could this mean no more
spending money on ready made flowers, ha ha ha,
I don't think so.
**

**
I painted Tilda on the card to match Tilda on
the candle. I love using my H20's, I would
use them for more projects if they were as
fast as using Copics.
**

**
Still on candles I had a very special
occassion on Easter Saturday which
called for 5 matching candles.
For a very long time I have wanted
to do something and finally last year
I made the commitment.
I have wanted to become a Catholic
for nearly 20 years and last year I
I began the RCIA program at our
church.
On Easter Saturday night, along with
4 very special people I made my Act
of Faith, took my First Communion,
and my Confirmation.
It was the most beautiful, amazing
experience and I shared it with my
beautiful family and some very
special friends.
**
**
I wanted to do something for the four people
who have shared this journey with me so I
made all of our Communion Candles.
**
**
The candles were all the same except for the
handmade hat pins I used for the two girls
candles, just to give them a little bit more
of a feminine touch, and the roses are from
Magnolia.
